Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou! Episode 1! [Review]

First New Anime in July 2013! (´▽`)ノ♪

Episode 1 of Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou! “ヽ(´▽`)ノ”

The episode starts with the introduction of Harumi Kazuhito who is your typical bookworm. He loves books, does well in school and he’s fairly average. His favorite author happens to be Akiyama Shinobu whom is a bestselling author across many genres in Japan; although very little is known about the author. One fateful day, his life ends after he protects a girl in a cafe during a robbery. The robber manages to escape, but unfortunately for Kazuhito, he dies. By Kazuhito’s strong desire to read Akiyama Shinobu’s books, Kazuhito ends up with a second chance at life – in the form of a dog. He retains his memory and his love of books, but aside from that, nothing seems to be going his way.

As luck would have it, the girl who he saved at the cafe ends up finding him at a pet store and buys him! This girl introduces herself as Natsuno Kirihime and happens to have a strange connection with Kazuhito because she can read his mind. She also has a large collection of books in her apartment, free for Kazuhito to read. This is when he finds out that Kirihime is actually an author herself – and not just any author, but Akiyama Shinobu (his favorite author)! As it turns out, Kirihime is a bit of a maniac herself and likes to carry around scissors just to torture Kazuhito every time his thoughts get out of line. She also seems to be talented in other areas besides writing.

To be honest, the only major flaw with this series would be it's comedy. Other than that, this show has some creativity, and I kind of felt sorry for the male lead and the whole set-up of the story is much bigger than what you would usually suspect in a series like this. I'm really looking forward into seeing more of this series! ヾ(*д*)ノ゛
